Jonesborough, Tennessee Enjoy a relaxing lifestyle living in the quiet country of Jonesborough, Tennessee where we have land for sale in Jonesborough. This magnificent property is only 11 miles from downtown Jonesborough, 6 miles from I-26 at Eastern Star exit 45 and only 7.5 miles to I-81 at Fall Branch exit 50 (SR81N). Jonesborough is a historic town with a quaint Main Street filled with shops, arts & crafts, cafes, diners, City Hall and other government offices. Jonesborough was the original capital of Tennessee and is the County Seat for Washington County.
Johnson City land, having a population of about 60,000 boast wonderful dining and shopping and fills all the essentials of a small city. In fact, Johnson City is an official Test Market for restaurants. If a restaurant does well in Johnson City, it most likely will do well anywhere.
The geographical area is referred to as the Tri-Cities Area and in addition to Johnson City, includes Kingsport and Bristol (home to the Bristol Motor Speedway).
The property contains 11.8 acres and is oriented to the southeast so you will enjoy sunrises everyday. The property has wonderful mountain views to both the north and south. The property is rectangular with a small valley somewhat near the middle of the site. The entire upper ridge is wooded and continues about an eighth of the way down the western half and about halfway down on the eastern half. The rear property line is at the crest of the ridge. The other side the ridge is extremely steep and wooded and it's highly unlikely anything can be developed. Additionally, the tracts on the other side of the crest front on Harmony Road, are several thousand feet deep and the crest is the very back of their property.
Our land for sale in Jonesborough has road frontage on Hartmantown of 830' with a depth of roughly 640 feet with an elevation at the ridge of 2,000 feet. General characteristics are steep to gently sloping, wooded and pastures. Beautiful hardwoods along the ridge have brilliant colored leaves in the Fall. In 2005 a culvert pipe and driveway were cut in at the west corner of our land for sale in Jonesborough and leads up to one of several good homesites. When you are facing the driveway, the property line is actually about 12' feet into the pasture to the left. We had our land for sale in Jonesborough surveyed in 2005 and found that the fence line along the west side was not properly located. The neighbor to the west met with the surveyor and we are all in agreement. A Permit for Construction of Subsurface Sewage Disposal System was obtained February 25, 2003. A new permit may be required prior to construction. Potable water will be supplied by well. There has been discussions of bringing public water down Hartmantown Road. I am currently pursuing updated information. Our land for sale in Jonesborough has electrical lines along Hartmantown Road and are available to provide underground service to your home. We purchased the property in March 2003 with the intent to build our dream home and enjoy a slower lifestyle. Unfortunately, a family crisis will now keep us in hot, humid, Hurricane Alley Florida. Please enjoy the pictures. If you have any questions or wish to visit our land in Jonesborough please give us a call. Our current asking price is $115,000. We are flexible but not desperate.
